History of CRCHC

Since December 2, 1987, Country Roads Community Health Centre has served the health needs of Rideau Lakes Township, Westport and surrounding areas. For many people, Country Roads is simply the friendly place where people come to see a  nurse practitioner or doctor; but the work done by Country Roads staff is much more. While having doctors and nurses is important, so too are dietitians, social workers, health promoters and services that help families meet their needs.

Our role is to work with the community to determine how to eliminate barriers to good health. One mandate of a communtiy health centre is to identify vulnerable people in our communities and help them to access the resources they need to remain healthy or become healthy. Some factors that affect a person's health include having enough food to eat, feeling safe in the community, and experiencing a sense of well-being.
