Good Food Box
Program offers fresh fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices for all community members. Participants place orders with payment at their local host-site by the seventh of each month and pick-up on the third Tuesday of the month. The program is volunteer-driven and volunteer-run with a staff program coordinator. Each order contains a copy of the Good Food News which is a monthly newsletter that highlights fruit and vegetable nutrition education and is produced by the Registered Dietitian. Orders contain local produce when available and new collaborations with local farmers are continually sought after. The program runs monthly (excluding August).

What’s Cooking Community kitchen – Westport and Portland
Join us to find out What’s Cooking! We test out new recipes together. Maybe try foods we’ve never tasted before. We make nutritious and delicious dishes from around the world, focusing on local, seasonal and budget-friendly foods, including those found in the Good Food Box, with the occasional exotic ingredient mixed in to spice things up! While we’re having fun in the kitchen, playing with our food, we’ll be sharing our cooking skills with each other and learning reliable nutrition and food safety tips from our Dietitian, Kate. Whether you’re looking to make new friends or to enjoy a free meal (and maybe even take home a doggy bag too), What’s Cooking is the place for you! No skills required. We can show you how to boil water! J There is no cost to participate and we offer free childcare (at Westport location) and support with travel costs if needed. What’s Cooking is offered at 10am at the Westport Free Methodist Church on the 1st Tuesday of the month (moving to 2nd Tuesday starting January 2020) and 1pm at Country Roads CHC, Portland on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Contact Kate to register at ext. 237, email@example.com . Follow @whatscookinwhatshakin on Facebook to find out What we’re Cooking next.
