Health Champions and Volunteer Coordination
A program designed to recruit, retain, and mentor individuals in a volunteer role to provide effective programming that meet the needs of clients. Youth training has been adapted to meet their learning needs.

Volunteers
Volunteers assist staff in offering a variety of programs throughout various communities. Examples of opportunities might include packing good food boxes, providing registration at Get W.I.T.H It, assisting at Early Year’s Programming, and helping to cook at What’s Cooking. Training, support and mentorship are provided throughout the volunteer’s role.
Youth Leaders – (13 – 18 years old)
Various volunteer responsibilities would include set up, clean up, snack prep, and leading of activities. Responsibilities assist youth to develop their communication skills, time management, team work, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Training, support and mentorship is provided as well community involvement hours are tracked.
Health Champions
Work to assist clients and teams to identify gaps and create solutions for clients and our communities. Working alone or with a group, Health Champions utilize a skill set to support clients with a specific need. Facilitating a group or mentoring a client would be an example for this role. Training, support and mentorship are provided throughout the placement.
