Nutrition Programs
Country Roads Community Health Centre
Good Food Box

Program offers fresh fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices for all community members. Participants place orders with payment at their local host-site by the seventh of each month and pick-up on the third Tuesday of the month.
The program is volunteer-driven and volunteer-run with a staff program coordinator. Each order contains a copy of the Good Food News which is a monthly newsletter that highlights fruit and vegetable nutrition education and is produced by the Community Health Worker and Registered Dietitian.
Orders contain local produce when available and new collaborations with local farmers are continually sought after. The program runs monthly (excluding August).

What’s Cooking Community Kitchen

Join us to find out What’s Cooking! We test out new recipes together. We make nutritious and delicious dishes from around the world, focusing on local, seasonal and budget-friendly foods, including those found in the Good Food Box, with the occasional exotic ingredient mixed in to spice things up! While we’re having fun in the kitchen, playing with our food, we’ll be sharing our cooking skills with each other and learning reliable nutrition and food safety tips from our Dietitian, Megan. No skills required. There is no cost to participate. What’s Cooking is offered at 10am at Country Roads Community Health Centre in Portland on the 1st Tuesday of the month.
