Mary is a Clinical Assistant and Community Health Worker at Country Roads Community Health Center. She supports people in many areas of their health and well-being.
Mary helps clients with diabetic care, including guiding them through diabetic pathways. She also performs routine phlebotomy, helping clients with their regular blood work needs. She also helps individuals with advanced care planning, guiding them through important end-of-life decisions. Along with this, Mary connects people to helpful services in the community, such as food programs, housing support, and transportation.
You may also see Mary’s friendly face around the clinic in other roles, as she often helps out wherever she’s needed. Mary is kind, understanding, and always ready to listen. Her work makes it easier for people to manage their health and find the support they need close to home.
Kelci is a Registered Practical Nurse and Community Health Worker at Country Roads Community Health Centre. A local to the area, Kelci brings a strong connection to the community and a passion for helping others.
With a background in both acute care and long-term care, Kelci has valuable experience supporting people with a wide range of health needs. At CRCHC, she plays an active role in running community programs and works closely with volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Her knowledge and kindness make her a trusted part of the team and a familiar face to many in the community.

Andrea began her career in 1983 as a Medical Secretary for three Family Physicians in Kingston, where she worked for seven years. In 1990, she and her husband returned to her family farm in the Westport area to start their own family and begin a new chapter. That same year, Andrea joined Country Roads Community Health Centre (CRCHC), launching a remarkable 35-year journey of dedication and service.
Throughout her time at CRCHC, Andrea has been a cornerstone of the organization, known for her exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering support for both patients and medical staff. She has become an expert in managing patient records, coordinating referrals to Specialists and Investigations, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily administrative tasks. Her professionalism, warmth, and compassionate approach have earned her the respect of colleagues and patients alike.
Today, Andrea and her husband are proud parents of two sons, and they joyfully embrace their growing family, which now includes two daughters-in-law and a six-month-old grandson who brings endless smiles and happiness into their lives.
Michelle Westwater is a multi-generation resident of the area, deeply rooted in the community she proudly serves. A graduate of Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Michelle earned a degree in Sociology and Criminology, where she developed a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and the complex systems that shape individual and community well-being.
Michelle spent over 10 years working as a Pharmacy Technician, gaining hands-on experience in patient care, medication management, and the day-to-day operations of clinical pharmacy settings. This experience helped foster a commitment to improving access to care and ensuring quality service delivery for all clients.
As Primary Care Administrator, Michelle oversees the coordination and administration of primary care services, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support efficient, patient-centered care and continues to advocate for integrated healthcare models that address both the medical and social needs of individuals and families.
Michelle lives in the area with her husband and two children.
Tracey Moore-Battams is the friendly face you’ll see at the front desk of the Country Roads Community Health Centre in Westport. She works as a medical receptionist and helps make sure every client feels welcome and cared for.
Tracey is from the local area and knows many people in the community. She is kind, easy to talk to, and always ready to help. Before working in Westport, she spent many years helping people with mental health and addiction challenges. This experience helps her understand and support clients with care and respect.
At the clinic, Tracey answers the phone, books appointments, and helps people with paperwork. She is an important part of the team and helps make the health centre a safe and friendly place for everyone.
Katy is a medical receptionist at the Country Roads Community Health Centre in Portland. She has been part of the team since 1989. Katy first started as a volunteer and has been helping cliients ever since.
Katy is friendly, caring, and always ready to lend a hand. She helps book appointments, answer phones, and support clients when they come to the clinic. She knows the community well and always makes people feel welcome.
With many years of experience, Katy is a trusted and important part of the health centre. She works hard every day to make sure clients get the care they need.
Melissa is a Community Health Worker based out of Guthrie House who also works as a casual medical receptionist at the Portland and Westport sites. With diplomas in both Paramedicine and Social Service Work, Melissa brings a unique combination of clinical knowledge and social care experience to her roles. She is dedicated to supporting clients and promoting community well-being through accessible, compassionate service across all locations. Known for her strong multitasking skills and commitment to continuous learning, Melissa is always striving to grow and adapt to meet the evolving needs of the communities she serves.
Claire brings over 30 years of experience as a dedicated medical secretary and assistant. A 1985 graduate of Seneca College, Claire has built a long-standing career in healthcare administration, known for her professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail.
After retiring to Westport in 2017, Claire returned to the workforce in 2022 to join the team at Country Roads Community Health Centre, where she continues to provide warm, efficient support to clients and staff alike. Her wealth of experience and deep commitment to client care make her a valued member of the CRCHC team.
Darlene is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a strong focus on brain health, smoking cessation, palliative care, and community-based support. In her role as a Client Navigator, Darlene provides compassionate, person-centered guidance to individuals and families navigating complex health challenges. She offers home visits to deliver care in a comfortable and familiar setting, helping clients access the services they need while honoring their dignity and preferences.
With a deep commitment to holistic and respectful care, Darlene supports clients across the continuum—from early prevention to end-of-life—ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered. Her experience in palliative care brings a gentle and informed approach to helping clients manage symptoms, make informed decisions, and enhance quality of life during serious illness.

Ronald Mearns is a Registered Nurse with a strong background in community healthcare. Since joining Country Roads Community Health Centre in 2016, he has worked at both the Westport and Portland locations, gaining a broad perspective on patient care. In 2022, he stepped into his current role as a triage nurse, where he helps patients navigate their health needs and access the right services.
A nurse since 2012, Ronald is deeply committed to serving the community he lives in, offering compassionate, accessible care to his neighbours.
Kaitlin Harrison is a compassionate and experienced Registered Practical Nurse with over a decade of experience in both hospital and public health settings. She brings a strong foundation in patient care, surgical support, and immunization services, with a focus on professionalism, empathy, and community wellness.
Kaitlin completed her Registered Practical Nursing diploma at St. Lawrence College in 2011. Her diverse background includes work in operating rooms, emergency departments, and public health clinics, where she has consistently demonstrated excellence in patient care and teamwork. Her areas of expertise include immunization and vaccine education, operating room and emergency care, minor procedures, patient education, community health outreach, and infection control practices. Kaitlin is known for her strong communication skills, leadership, and dedication to providing high-quality care in both hospital and community settings.
